All the Devas sat on the creature such that he may not rise.

In accordance with the above principle deities residing are

1. Northeast side Eshwar or Esa
2. East side Adithya or Sun
3. Southeast side Agni or God of fire
4. South side Yama or God of Death
5. Southwest side Niruthi or Mighty Demon
6. West side  Varun or God of Water
7. Northwest side Vaayu God of Air
8. North side Kuber God of Wealth

Construction of any enterprise may be house, ware house, public utility building or any commercial property etc, be such as to respect the activities of these deities, there shall be conformity of human activities with those of the presiding deities and so one gets and unseen help in speedy execution of the same leading to happy life. 4. in the south side presided by Yama, God of Death… sleeping with head towards south, having a raised platform, putting heavy articles etc of the enterprise on this side in the construction etc.
5. Southwest side armory and such equipment which give security to the construction or enterprise.
6. West side having the science of prosperity such as Granary (not underground), Cattle shed, parking area for the vehicles etc.
7. Northwest side science of freedom.
8. North side sign of prosperity, keeping low level, storing hidden wealth appropriately, such as jewellry, expensive cloths, hard cash etc.

These activities, placement etc are pleasing to the presiding deities in the respective directions and hence they shower their blessings on the residence.
