Cambodia, authentically “Kingdom of Cambodia” is an independent country in Southeast Asia, located on the Southern part of Indochina Peninsula. Neighboring countries of Cambodia include Vietnam towards the east, Thailand towards the northwest; and Laos towards the northeast. Although the country got its independence in 1960 the political, social and economic matters are not yet solved and the country faces numerous issues. The country was constantly bombed by USA during Vietnam war form 1969-1973. Some of the common issues faced by Cambodia are political instability, high crime rates, corruption, hunger and low human development index.
The area of modern Cambodia has long-term traditional, regional and civilized history. Tools and other archeological evidence found in the area show that Cambodia is inhabited since the Iron age or maybe before. In 1863, the ruler of Cambodia sought protection of France due to numerous disputes with neighboring Thailand and Thailand became “protectorate of France” from 1867 to 1953. In 1953 the whole Indochina got its independence from France including Vietnam and Cambodia. As the Vietnam War broke out, many resisting Vietnamese groups sought shelter in Cambodia and Cambodia was bombed by US Airforce from 1969-1973 and tens of thousands of Cambodian innocent people died.
The geography of Cambodia is marked by fertile plains, low-lying mountains, hills, lakes, tropical forests, and rivers. Due to fertile land and abundant water resources farming and agriculture is done on large scale and is one of the most contributing sectors towards the economy. Most of the wildlife and other species of Cambodia are found in the forest areas and reserves. But sad to say environmental destruction is active on large scale in the country and is ranked one of the worst countries in terms of environmental protection. Some of the severe issues are deforestation, illegal logging, poaching wildlife species including the endangered ones. All these activities have led to the major climatic change in the region and the country is often hit with floods, mud sliding, and rising temperatures.
Agriculture is the dominant sector of Cambodia’s economy followed by textile industries and tourism. As the country has rich and fertile lands, agriculture is one of the best economic sectors and a number of crops especially rice is grown. Other crops include maize, cassava, sweet potatoes, groundnuts, soybeans, sesame seeds, dry beans. Garment (textile) industry has also strong base in Cambodia and accounts for almost 80% of Cambodia’s exports. Tourism is one of the fastest growing economic sectors of the country and there is a number of places of interest for tourists like heritage Sites, temples, culture, and tradition of the local people.
The “Khmer language” is the official language declared by the country. French is still spoken by some of the aged people as the area remained a French colony for a long period. But in the modern time, the Influence of English is increasing in the country and English is often used for educational and foreign purposes. Theravada Buddhism is the state religion of Cambodia and is followed by the majority of the population, around 97%. Some of the minority religions of the country include Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Folk religion and small non-religious community. One vastu consultant in AP opinioned that present Buddists were converted from Hindus in those days.
Many of us known about World's largest spiritual/religious monument in Cambodia Angkor Wat Temple. It occupies total 162.6 hectares or 402 acres. Cambodia is a far eastern country having unique history. A place worth visiting for any human being. In recent times it is a tragedy that Cambodia is known for all wrong reasons. The Khmer rogue Government and later pol pot Government killed millions of their own people on ideological grounds. In fact Cambodia has a great history and had very good connections with India. In 12th century, a huge temple dedicated to the Hindu God "Vishnu" was erected. Time and history dealt a heavy blow on Cambodia. With the results that a beautiful place like "Angkor Wat" was consigned to obscurity and lost its utility to the people. When we see today we are reminded of the heritage which we could not contain and profit by its existence. Any visitor will be richer visiting this place and learn the tragic events that befell Cambodia. Today it is UNESCO heritage site. We may learn to prevent such situations where further "Angkor Wat" would be a mute witness to our greed and lack of forward thinking. The Angkor Wat inspires us to think rationally and act towards growth and harmony of people.

We are tech professionals and working in USA. After a year long search we brought the house. After buying the house I started looking for consultant who can help me evaluating the house. I came across Subhavaastu website which has lot of information. I contacted Mr.Suresh and requested him to help with our house vastu. It has been a great pleasure working with him. He is very detailed oriented person and never compromises with his work. I am typically not interested to deliver the reviews. But after working with Mr. Suresh I decided to share my experience. Mr. Suresh has great expertise in providing vastu consultation to USA property. He is always available through email and phone l to answer questions. Hello Sir, My name is Bharathi. Me and my husband have been reading your articles closely. We really appreciate the effort put by you to share your knowledge about vastu and it’s effects - Bharathi - USA.
I have consulted Suresh Garu during December 2014 during the process of buying a house in Texas, USA. I have occupied the house for one year now, and feel like dropping a review regarding my experience during the entire process. I am very much satisfied with the kind of service I received from him. He is very knowledgeable and I was often stunned by his detailed analysis during the course of my interaction with him. He was very much accessible over phone (perhaps more than 10 times for one house plan!) and the price is very much reasonable especially compared with the cost of the house. I noticed his burning desire to help me in making informed decisions on certain things. I have seen some people pretending to know this subject and misguiding those who come for help by saying only what we want to hear. SubhaVaastu is definitely not that one. Finally, I am strong believer of leaving certain things to experts in those subjects. I have been in US for more than 13 years and have seen people doing their own corrections (by reading website articles) trying to save few dollars. Please don’t do that. You would end up in causing more damage. I highly recommend you to engage SubhaVaastu in your next project - Satish - Dallas - TX - USA
