Burundi, officially the “Republic of Burundi” is a small landlocked country located in the East Africa in the “African Great Lakes” region. The country is also considered part of central Africa and is bordered to Congo towards the west, Tanzania towards the east and south and Rwanda towards the north.
The people of Burundi were live independent and happy for many centuries until the start of 20th century when it was occupied by Germany and colonized. The majority of the population of the country live in rural areas. This is the reason almost all of the country is deforested and also faces soil erosion.
The ancient tribal people Twa, Hutu and Tutsi lived in the area which is now modern Burundi. Before the colonists arrived, the area was under the reign of the kingdom of Burundi.
By the end of 19th century, German East Africa Company was active in the area. By the start of 20th century, Burundi was colonized by Germany. After the defeat of Germany in WW1, the area was transferred to Belgium. It was not until 1962 when Burundi got its independence from Belgium.
Although the country got its independence, from till then its timeline is turbulent. A number of events of civil wars, unrests, and genocides. UN maintained an active force in the country to maintain peace and stability.
Burundi is a landlocked country and is one of the smallest in the African continent. As most of the population lives in rural areas and overpopulation, almost all of the forests of the country have vanished. Also, the condition of the soil is poor. The terrain of the country features mostly hills and mountains. The eastern part of the country is covered by plateaus.
Burundi is a poor country and faces an economic crisis. Although, long way from independence, due to wars and unrest, much of the structure was destroyed and will take time to reconstruct. The major sector of the economy is agriculture and Tea and Coffee are the two main exports.
Agriculture also accounts for 30% of the total GDP. Other agricultural products include maize, sweet potatoes, bananas, and cotton. There are also a small amount of minerals that help the economy to some extent. These include uranium, nickel, cobalt, copper, and platinum.
A number of Burundi’s people have migrated elsewhere due to civil wars and unrest. Majority of the population lives in rural areas. According to UN census of 2016, the country has a total population of 10,524,117.
Although the population is rising at alarming rate, the problem of food supply and lack of facilities is still there. The majority of the country’s population is Christian accounting for 80-90% of the total population.
The official language of Burundi is Kirundi. However, French is used for official, educational and other purposes.
The country has plenty of land and significant resources to some extent. All the current problems can be overcome by few good decisions and policies by the government.
By starting social campaigns, forests can be again grown which will provide not only the good environment but also give a number of other benefits e.g. wildlife will also recover.

Hello Sir, My name is Bharathi. Me and my husband have been reading your articles closely. We really appreciate the effort put by you to share your knowledge about vastu and it’s effects - Bharathi - USA.
I have consulted Suresh Garu during December 2014 during the process of buying a house in Texas, USA. I have occupied the house for one year now, and feel like dropping a review regarding my experience during the entire process. I am very much satisfied with the kind of service I received from him. He is very knowledgeable and I was often stunned by his detailed analysis during the course of my interaction with him. He was very much accessible over phone (perhaps more than 10 times for one house plan!) and the price is very much reasonable especially compared with the cost of the house. I noticed his burning desire to help me in making informed decisions on certain things. I have seen some people pretending to know this subject and misguiding those who come for help by saying only what we want to hear. SubhaVaastu is definitely not that one. Finally, I am strong believer of leaving certain things to experts in those subjects. I have been in US for more than 13 years and have seen people doing their own corrections (by reading website articles) trying to save few dollars. Please don’t do that. You would end up in causing more damage. I highly recommend you to engage SubhaVaastu in your next project - Satish - Dallas - TX - USA

A man was complaining to a railroad engineer.
What's the use of having a train schedule if the trains are always late.
The railroad engineer replied.
How would we know they were late, if we didn't have a schedule?
